P90X Day Twenty-Three: Core Synergistics

Uh ok so I thought this was going to be a week off. Boy was I wrong! Core Synergistics is an ass kicking workout! Tony lets you know this workout is no nonsense by starting with crazy staggered hands push ups that I can only do one set of on each side. I also can’t do the Sphinx Push Ups Yet and don’t know if I will be able to any time soon. Oh, and my superman banana must look like a sad mushy banana getting kicked around!

There are some exercises that are a good cardio boost like the squat run so it’s kind of like interval training which is nice. I am definitely not worried about my calorie burn this week anymore. This workout had to have burned plenty of calories while giving me a nice core workout. I didn’t even really notice I was working my core that much until after the workout when I felt how tired those muscles were. But, I think this is another workout where you really need to focus on form to make sure you’re getting the most out of it. It would be easy to half ass some of the exercises and not get all of the benefit so I’m going to have to pay attention and make sure my mind doesn’t drift.

My day 23 was on July 18…. Core Syn is serious stuff. For the life of me, I can not do one Dreya Roll, but I managed 4 Sphinx push ups last night. The push ups look deceivingly easy…until you try one!

Dreya rolls are impossible! I have to push myself up to stand back up as I try not to ooze hatred for her from my eyes haha! Congrats on the push ups!
